Justin and Doug Panzer and their former New Orleans Hockey League teammate Josh Reece formed the Maryland incarnation of the Laughing Skulls in 2003. Through aggressive recruiting of adult hockey players from around the Baltimore-Washington area the Skulls flourished quickly and saw a rapid increase in the number of players interested in joining the club. As players got older (and slower) and younger guys came on board, it was necessary to add teams to accommodate everyone.
In the years since our inaugural season, the Laughing Skulls have grown from one team of 14 players to eight teams with a total of over 180 active players. Additionally, we have Skulls alumni and friends playing under the LSHC banner in places like Reisterstown (MD), Philadelphia, Richmond, and more.
